I went there because they accepted my insurance. I had tooth pain and they gave me 25+ x-rays, including a panoramic that cost me $50.00 out of pocket, they told me they could not treat me without the panoramic x-ray. I have never received that many x-rays in one visit, I’m 65 years old, I have been in a lot of dentist chairs. I know I have very minor plaque and they insisted I have a $4000.00 deep cleaning, that would be $10,000.00 + in a... Read more

This place is only interested in money. I was told that my insurance will be called and verified to see what services needed to be done, none of this was done, so when I walked in the office they immediately wanted to do an x-rays when the X-ray was not necessary nor covered under my insurance, therefore I have to pay out-of-pocket. I went to Coast Dental for a deep cleaning. I also needed 2 fillings replaced. They told me it would cost $700.00 for the procedure. While I was in the chair they came to me with a revised estimate and it was going to be $1400.00 for full mouth deep cleaning without the teeth being worked on. I was confused but was in the middle of the cleaning and told them we would discuss it after the cleaning was done. When I returned to the counter they had... Read more

Awful. Just interested in what they can sell to you. Would not recommend.

This was an initial appointment scheduled to simply get a routine cleaning. First concern with this appointment is that I spent nearly thirty minutes waiting in the reception area before being seen! I advised that I regularly visit the dentist and complete my cleanings every six months with my current dentist religiously. I also explained that the only reason I was visiting Coast was due to an insurance error regarding my regular dentist and I... Read more

I moved to Lakeland recently and made an appointment for the initial appointment so I could have my routine cleaning. They hit me with so many extra costs my head was spinning. They were trying to tell me that I did not qualify for a regular cleaning. This was shocking to me because I have all my teeth and they are healthy, I had always had my teeth cleaned twice a year at my previous dentist and I have never had any cavities. While in the... They don't do fillings, let teeth waste away until a crown is needed. They charged me for a High Noble Metal 4 tooth bridge but used a lower grade of Noble Metal and overcharged me $200 ($50/tooth) After complaining for 18 months they offered $100 credit, I refused. In dental extraction they want to use 1 or 2 syringes filled with antibacterial Chlorhexidine at $45 per syringe (about 15ml each). You can buy 16 oz bottle for $4 at Target if they... Read more

Coast Dental - SmileCare Orthodontics --- Don't waste your money!
1 of 3

I am seeking a refund for unsatisfactory orthodontic care for my son's teeth. He's been with Smilecare for 3 years (started in July 2013) , but has been seen less than 15 times. His brackets were repositioned twice, resulting in lopsided teeth. The last time his brackets were repostioned was in March 2016 by Dr. Shamlian. A week later, his teeth were lopsided and a big gap opened up in the front. This is happening and yet, he is supposed to get... Read more
